Author
R.A. Salvatore is one of the most successful fantasy authors today. He has
sold more than 10’000’000 copies and his books have appeared regularly on
The New York Times best-seller list. He has fans not only in North America,
but all over the world as well. His books have been translated into many
different languages, including German, Italian, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian,
Turkish, Croatian, Bulgarian, Yiddish, Spanish, Russian, Polish, Czech,
and French.
His most popular and followed series that he has written is about the courageous
and honorable dark elf, Drizzt Do'Urden. His very first book that lead to
the dark elf series is The Crystal Shard published in 1988 by TSR. Since
then, he has published many additional multi-volume series about the dark
elf and his adventures, including The Dark elf Trilogy, Paths of Darkness,
The Hunter’s Blades Trilogy, and the Cleric Quintet.
Salvatore is a native of Massachusetts and resides there currently with
his wife Diane and their three children, Bryan, Geno, and Caitlen. The family
also has three dogs, named Oliver, Artemis, and Ivan, and four cats.
When Salvatore isn’t busy writing his next epic series, he likes to hit
the gym, coach, play on the family-league softball team, and play Dungeons
and Dragons.
